Dr. Fred was born and raised in California but moved to the Seattle area to attend U.W in electrical engineering. Fred got a work/study job at Lockheed but decided he'd rather work with people. He changed his direction towards becoming a dentist. He enrolled at UCSB and did graduate work in molecular biology with an emphasis in double stranded RNA. Dr. Fred went on to graduate from UCSF Dental School in 1979. He moved back to the Seattle area after completing dental school where he was an associate dentist for several years before opening his own office in Beautiful Lake Stevens in 1986.
When Dr. Fred is not with patients he spends his free time with his wife Laura in nearby rural Snohomish. They have a daughter who is a nurse in Seattle, and a son who is in dental school.
Dr Fred plays a lot of tennis, is a fan of skiing, biking and more. He's an avid backpacker with 30 weeks of off-trail experience in the deep wilderness of Yosemite as well as many other places around the West and Canada.

Dr Fred is also a Grandmaster Pro Disc Golfer having started playing back in the 1970s. He designed and placed the Lake Stevens Disc Golf course next to Pilchuck Elementary School about 3 blocks from the office. It's one of the more interesting and uniquely challenging disc golf courses around...
